Delivery Result Transformation Case Study
This is a case study of a delivery excellence program championed by Nagaraja Gundappa in Wipro Technologies. Over 1500 project managers were trained in advanced topics of software project management, mentored and assessed. An independent survey of projects managed by those who were trained and did well in the assessments showed that they performed at 13% less schedule overrun compared to the projects managed by those who had average scores in the assessments. The results were very positively received by the management in Wipro Technologies and the delivery excellence team led by Nagaraja Gundappa were given awards by Mr. Premji also. Project Manager Competency Assessment Case Study
ACE conducts assessment for competencies of project managers. While ACE has conducted assessments for large SEI CMMi level 5 organizations, this document contains a typical report and not for a specific customer. This sample report explains how the competency areas were shortlisted based on the goals of the organization, how the assessment methods were chosen, the assessment report was presented and competency improvement recommendations were made. As a senior manager in our organization interested in streamlining our project delivery practices, I wanted to understand all the practices involved in project management. The overview session provided me just what I wanted by covering the gyst of PMBoK and CMM. I also wanted to understand the practices that top IT organizations implement and the advanced practices session gave me an exposure to the advanced practices and why they are required in spite of implementing CMM.
I appreciate the way training was conducted and content of the course is very goal oriented which surely helps us focus on important topics for the exam. We took the PMP 4 days’ training under Mr Nagaraj at Bengaluru. I remember on day 1 just after completion of session 1, I asked him for relevant real-life examples in Construction / Real Estate (myself along with colleague were from Construction industry in the whole class which is dominated by IT background members), right from the next session things changed. He looks into current state / needs of each individual and trains them accordingly, that takes some patience…!! I passed the PMP exam on 1st attempt on 2nd Jan 2018 from Ahmedabad center. Till the day of the exam, Mr Nagaraj was in constant touch with me guiding and motivating relentlessly. I thank him for his efforts and wish all the success in his future endeavors..!!!
I passed my PMP EXAM with Above Target on 9th January 2018, these all came through the tough preparation behind the success. It all started with the 35 hours training done with IIL, in BANGLAORE. Four days of training was worth which was given by Mr. Nagaraj Gundappa, could cover all topics. But the tough time was to prepare for exam after getting into the day to day hectic schedule. And thanks to Nagaraj Sir for guiding and answering to all questions whenever asked for. It feels great to have achieved this prestigious certification.
I am Shine Abraham working as a Project Manager in a Construction firm in Saudi Arabia, working for Saudi Aramco for the last 21 years. I came to the course looking to build upon what i know about project management and to get myself prepared for PMP certification. Really a very good course and a highly enjoyable week. Your training was excellent, combining theory and examples from the field and extracting the valid points from the different contributions from the group. Huge breadth of knowledge and the ability to tie the different ends together and draw general lessons was exemplary. It was highly participatory and inclusive.
